The layout of the MAISON V60 promotes relaxation and reconnection with the family

Not so long ago, an automotive-inspired house for two retired racing drivers appeared on our pages. This time we have another modern house built by WARchitect for two airline pilots. If you were expecting some crazy aviation themes, there aren’t any here. Instead, the design of the V60 HOUSE is to help owners reconnect with nature and with each other.

This private residence is located in Vibhavadi 60, Laksi, Bangkok, Thailand and stands on a plot surrounded by trees. In addition, the property is away from the main road, allowing them to enjoy the fresh air. The couple’s relatives also live nearby, making it a wonderful place for family reunions.

MAISON V60 spans just over 4,800 square feet with large open areas and high ceilings. As WARchitect says, husband and wife have careers that keep them sitting for long hours at a time. Plus, the cockpit is their office, and it can get claustrophobic at times.

Therefore, the V60 HOUSE layout attempts to incorporate relaxation, healing and unrestricted freedom. Another unique aspect of the place is the way the volumes interconnect. Instead of keeping everything in one structure, it has three areas.

There is the master bedroom, living room and guest area. To access each of them, you have to go through a courtyard with a pleasant view of the greenery and the sky. We have the impression that everything flows in a coherent way. The wood cladding, marble and concrete create a welcoming atmosphere in its walls.

Huge sections of glazing provide a wonderful view of the landscape outside. There is also a terrace which spans the swimming pool. The V60 HOUSE is a wonderful haven to relax between flights.
